John Lamkin, Board Member, Chairman of Membership Committee
John Lamkin is a freelance travel journalist and photographer based in Taos, New Mexico USA. He also lives part-time in Oaxaca & Quintana Roo, Mexico.
He was educated at Orange Coast College, the University of California at Los Angeles and the San Francisco Art Institute. He holds a Bachelors degree from Pacific States University.
John has also done copy writing, technical writing, and poetry.
He has been editor of Camerawork Quarterly, Music of the Spheres magazine and several newsletters.
He is owner of Paloma Blanca Press, a self-publishing consulting firm, and the editor of Soul of Travel online magazine.
John is readily available for assignment (commission) in the southwestern USA and Latin America and also other parts of the world with some lead time.
He is a member of the International Travel Writers Alliance (ITWA); the International Society for Travel Writing (ISTW); International Food, Wine & Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA); MediaBistro.com's AvantGuild, and Travelwriters.com.
In addition to his freelance journalism John is a contributing writer for Luxury Latin America, Suite101, Northern New Mexico Travel Examiner for Examiner.com, and a columnist for The Syndicated News.
