IFWTWA Membership Guidelines
The
International Food, Wine & Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA)
is a California non-profit, mutual benefit corporation with international
business headquarters in Long Beach, California, USA.
The IFWTWA currently has hundreds of
journalists and associate members based in over 75 countries around the
globe.
Regular Membership in the IFWTWA is open
to individual journalists actively publishing or broadcasting in the food,
wine and/or travel industries. Associate Membership is open to individual
representatives of organizations within the tourism and hospitality industries.
Regular Membership eligibility: a professional
paid to write, photograph, film, tape, edit or perform for a publication
or broadcast on the subject matter of food, wine or travel, including
staff writers, editors, freelance writers, photographers, broadcasters
and book authors, but not including public relations professionals or
those who write about clients.
The minimum requirements for Regular
Membership are detailed on the application form that has been most
recently approved by the IFWTWA board of directors and these requirements
are subject to change. We request samples of or links to your most recent articles, photographs, broadcasts, etc. Book authors, contributors
and newsletter editors have different requirements and the current application
form will detail the requirements.
Associate Membership
eligibility: a professional active in a food, wine or travel industry,
including those with positions in tourism, lodging, restaurants, public
relations and marketing companies. An organization may have more than
one Associate IFWTWA member.
