Armed with BSJ and MSJ degrees from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, I served a number of years as a U.S. State Department Foreign Service diplomat. My language skills include full fluency in French and some in Dutch, Spanish and Arabic. I traveled widely in Europe, Africa and Asia before retiring to a new career as fulltime freelance food, wine and travel photojournalist (and, occasionally, cartoonist.)
