JoAnna Haugen is a Las Vegas-based freelance writer with articles published in more than 40 print and online publications. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya and has traveled to six continents. Her journeys have taken her down the whitewater of the Nile River, through the rainforests of Australia, up the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and to countless national parks in the United States.
