He's a published travel writer, an author, blog writer, restaurant judge and an accidental food and wine lover.
Kevins most recent project was writing and presenting Spirit Chasers a production for US cable TV where hes sent on missions to discover wines and the local tipple or national drinks of the world. Last year he was invited to screen test as a judge on My Kitchen Rules but was pipped at the post by better-looking, French-accented Manu Feildel. Damn the French!
Hed tell you that his elementary schooling was in a culinary school and that he obtained his degree in a winery, but thats a stretch. His real education didnt come until later in life in bars, taverns, restaurants and cafes: in airport lounges, hotel lobbies and on cruise ships. Hes also predominant in the MICE media space with a deep understanding of the international business events industry.
His writings zone in on the quirky side of a story the bits others either choose to ignore or cant see the tickling humour in. His articles and stories have been read by all sorts of nationalities from Americans to Chinese and from New Zealanders to Indonesians as theyve been published in newspapers and magazines in some far-flung places.
Kevin is the author of A Hasty Retreat - a novel set in the Central Victorian Goldfields. Based on the period when he owned a small farm (of sorts) in Hepburn Springs, the book takes you through an hysterical account of what goes right and what goes wrong in trying to assimilate into bush life. Theres humour, intrigue and a whole lot of fun in the book. Hes currently working on his second book Remarkable, which through a series of 50 vignettes, takes a quirky look at life as a small boy growing up in suburban Melbourne.
Hes the Australasian Chairman of the International Food Wine and Travel Writers Association (California) and a member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers
