2018 Post-Conference Media Trip
IFWTWA thanks our members’ hosts and local tourism for coordinating their stay. All opinions expressed are the individual writer’s and not those of or influenced by IFWTWA.
Think bald eagles and the quirky spouts of orca whales as your ferry glides to the San Juan Islands. The Islands are called The Gourmet Archipelago by Lonely Planet. IFWTWA members attending this press trip dined or stayed on the waterfront and learned the secrets of award-winning chefs. They also attended the San Juan Island Farmers Market, took a distillery tour and sampled tide-to-table oysters at Westcott Bay Shellfish Company’s farm. On their picturesque waterfront village stroll of Friday Harbor they visited unique shops, galleries and museums all within one square mile. Visiting the 99-year-old Lighthouse at Lime Kiln Point State Park (aka Whale Watch Park) was also a special experience.
