2019 California, USA
Tri-Valley Region Fam Tour
May 4-6, 2019

Host: Visit Tri-Valley

Imagine yourself atop Mt. Diablo, where you will see that the Tri-Valley is made up of three valleys that come together to create this name. These featured cities, Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, and the town of Danville, are home to award-winning wineries, delightfully-diverse restaurants, brewpubs, charming downtowns, and unspoiled hiking trails. Just 35 miles east of San Francisco. Get ready to bask in the gorgeous sunshine, idyllic countryside, and clean city charm.

Tentative Itinerary

The “Must Do's’”

  • Authentic Dim Sum brunch at one of their authentic Chinese dumpling restaurants

  • Wine tasting and possible classes/tours in the Livermore Valley, California’s original wine country and home to the California Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Syrah

  • Dinner at Range Life their newest Michelin-mentioned restaurant for an exceptional culinary experience

  • A performance at the Bankhead Theater on Sunday at 5:00 pm with dinner on the Tri-Valley Beer Trail after

Optional “Would be fun”

  • Historical tour of Eugene O’Neill’s home in the hills of Danville. O’Neill was America’s first Nobel-winning playwright who wrote many of his most famous plays (and performed them in his barn) right there in the hills of Danville (just named California’s safest city).

  • Blackhawk Museum: a Smithsonian-affiliated museum with a world-class auto museum that will impress even those not into cars. It’s stunning! The museum also features the story of how the west began, starting with the native Americans all the way through to the Donner Party. Compelling display of how we got to where we are today. The museum’s Into China exhibit is set to open with the Forbidden City and may also be ready by the time you arrive.

  • A drive up to the summit of Mt. Diablo where you get a 360º view of the SF skyline, the Sierra’s, and if it’s a clear day, Half Dome in Yosemite. Warning: this is a windy road and not an advisable excursion for those prone to motion sickness.

  • An electric bike tour through the wine country and first brewery to open out here since Prohibition (we used to grow hops all over the place, back in the day)

  • A visit to the San Francisco Premium Outlets, the largest outlet mall in California with great deals of Prada, Gucci, Versace and more (also regular high-end stores with great prices)

  • Strolling through adorable downtowns with outstanding Farmers’ Markets, rich history, and great farm to table lunch options.

  • Beer and food pairing at BottleTaps. For those who think it’s all about the wine, they will be pleasantly surprised with how Chef Patrick creates the perfect pairings with local craft beers.
