If you love awe-inspiring stretches of coastline and delicious seafood, look no further than the northeasternmost state in the U.S. – Maine!

An abundance of parks and forestry, Maine is a haven for stunning natural scenery. If you haven’t had the opportunity to explore Maine, you don’t know what you are missing. With its iconic lighthouses, lobster boats and cruises along the scenic byways, this is a destination that provides you with plenty to write about in your publications, blogs and social media.

In this fam you will discover Maine not only as a visual feast but also as a culinary destination. Be part of the local flavor as we taste local wines, take a lobster boat expedition and taste Damariscotta River Oysters. We’ll also stretch our legs in Camden State Park before we head off to experience the Stephen King Tour.

Damariscotta River Oyster Boat Tour - Discover the Damariscotta River where 80% of  Maine oysters are farmed and harbor seals, ospreys and bald eagles soar above the coves. 

Cellardoor Winery, Lincolnville – The 200-year-old barn in Lincolnville overlooks the vineyard. We will have a tasting paired with local cheese

Walk or hike in Camden Hills State Park - Camden Hills State Park is a 5,710-acre public recreation area overlooking Penobscot Bay in the town of Camden. The state park features multi-use trails to Mount Battie, Mount Megunticook, and other scenic locales. 

Head north to Winterport Winery -
Winterport Winery is located in the historic village of Winterport, not far from Bangor, and offers a selection of award-winning fruit wines to complement various cuisines.  

Penobscot Bay Brewery is their on-site brewing facility specializing in small batch, handcrafted brews.

  • Airfare, lodging and activities are included.
  • Deadline to apply: June 26, 2019.

Keep in mind that in order to be considered for this media trip:

1. Your dues must be current now and during the time the trip will take place.
2. Your IFWTWA website profile must be complete to apply.
3. Your Social Media and Media Placements: Applicants selected are required to do social media pre and during the trip, and are required to produce at least one article within three months of the trip.
4. Your Cost: If you are selected for this media trip, your cost will be $125. This money goes directly to support the income goals of this organization. No money goes to the host or IFWTWA coordinators. Activity and restaurant tips are generally paid for by the host, however you may want to bring additional money to tip other entities such as hotel maid service.

The application period for this trip is closed. 

Note: IFWTWA vets all applications prior to submittal to the Host. Vetting includes verification of member's association status and member profile. Dues must be current at the time of application and during the time the media trip will take place. Your profile must be complete including Item #6 or 8 article links -- your choice, but at least one must be completed and we recommend both.
