American Countess River Cruise
BBQ Challenge - Media Trip
May 23-May 31, 2020

The why:

If your readers love discovering small-ship cruising, enjoy hearing about great American music, and are foodies, this is the press trip you should apply for.

Write about tasting the best of the best barbeque aboard the new American Countess. To be unveiled by American Queen Steamboat Company for the 2020 season, the contemporary 245-passenger American Countess will offer many of the same exciting heartland and deep South itineraries as her sisters the American Queen and American Duchess.

American Countess

Sailing along the Upper Mississippi River from Memphis, TN to Alton, IL, ports of call include New Madrid, MO; Paducah, KY; Cape Girardeau, MO; Chester, IL; and St. Louis, MO. On this voyage, three barbeque masters -- from New Madrid and Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Chester, Illinois -- have been hand-picked to create unique experiences in each port along the way. Guests will indulge in each authentic, local culinary craft, and then rate each participant -- including the American Queen Steamboat Company culinary team. At the conclusion of each journey, the winner will be announced, as chosen by guests.

And there’s more - Begin your American Queen journey with an “American Music” City stay in Memphis and enjoy one night at a hotel to explore the city.
