IFWTWA Media Trip
Chautauqua County
September 11-14, 2024
Chautauqua County is located in Western NY state and has been a vacation destination for 150 years. Our area is known for our year-round outdoor recreation, such as boating and fishing on our five lakes, including Chautauqua Lake and Lake Erie, hiking, golf, and snow sports in the winter. In addition to outdoor recreation, our area is home to unique cultural attractions such as Chautauqua Institution, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this summer, the National Comedy Center, Lucy Desi Museum, and Roger Tory Peterson Institute, as well as many more. Chautauqua County’s northern border is made up of Lake Erie shoreline, which is ideal for grape growing, making it the perfect location for Lake Erie Wine Country, a collection of 20+ wineries located between NY and PA.
