A Regular Member must be an individual over the age of eighteen (18) who is proficient in writing in the English language and demonstrating discerning interest and broad experience in the food, wine and travel industries.
Applicant must select one (1) of the following Regular member categories and provide corresponding qualifying information. Details of the application process here.
Provide eight (8) links to article samples published articles over the past 24 months. The most recent 12 months must be focused on food, wine and/or travel (including but not limited to, digital magazine articles and digital clips from printed media websites).
(1) A blog must be at least two years old
(2) If the blog is one to two years old
Bloggers are subject to the same writing standards as regular members as established by the IFWTWA’s Food Wine Travel Magazine.
Please utilize the 'Media Clips of My Work' area - found after the member type descriptions - to add your blog post links. You are required to submit a total of eight (8) links to blog posts and/or other articles.
Most recent book must be focused on food, wine and/or travel and published within past 12 months. Second book may be on other topics but must be published within the past 24 months. One (1) book submission fulfills the requirement for 4 article clips as defined under “Writers/Editors.”
Submit a URL to the magazine. The Board looks for two years of being in business in which the editor's name appears in the masthead.
Four (4) links (in any combination of medium) per year for each of the past two (2) years that verify paid work through the sale of photographs and/or working on film and/or broadcast projects. The most recent year must focus on food, wine and/or travel.
Applicants for Regular membership must present evidence of publishing during the immediate 24 months prior to completing this application to join the IFWTWA.
A total of 8 clips via URL links may be required depending on the category of membership you have selected above.
Applications without clips specifically conforming to the above requirements will be rejected.<.p>

The reputation and credibility of our Association are central to our work and paramount to our success. Affiliation with IFWTWA affords our members unique opportunities to gain privileged access to attractions, events, persons, and places of business worldwide.
The actions of our members as representatives of the Press to the travel and hospitality industry and the public reflect on our entire organization and every member. We monitor the conduct of our members as they represent themselves to external organizations and at IFWTWA sponsored events.
All members must professionally comport themselves while representing IFWTWA. Member conduct is critical when members attend an IFWTWA-sponsored event, press/media trip, or in any other situation or context in which a member is representing the IFWTWA.
You must certify you have read, understand, and agree to comply with our Code of Conduct AND our Expectations of Conduct for Events and Media Trips. Submission of this Application constitutes your AGREEMENT to comply with our Code of Conduct. Violations may result in exclusion from future IFWTWA-sponsored events/media trips and/or expulsion from the IFWTWA.
By signing below, I warrant that I have read and will adhere to the IFWTWA CONDUCT and REPRESENTATION of the IFWTWA. Further, I understand and agree that failure to adhere to either the IFWTWA Code of Conduct or the Expectations of Conduct for Events and Media Trips can result in revocation of privileges and membership.
Payment of the 1st year dues and new membership fee is required to complete the application.
A full refund will be made in the event the Board denies the applicant membership, however, no refunds are available after approval.
