Jeffrey Spear is an accomplished writer, journalist and cookbook author, providing stories and industry insights to a variety of nationally distributed trade and consumer publications. With 45+ years of immersion in food and related consumer lifestyle industries, Spear has written about growers, chefs, ingredients, processors, manufacturers, retailers and foodservice operators around the world.
On a culinary note, Spear has obtained training from professional cooking schools in Australia and the United States. In this capacity, he has developed and edited recipes and written cookbooks including “Yum: Tasty Recipes from Culinary Greats” (on behalf of Microplane) and “The First Coast Heritage Cookbook.” Most recently, he published “My Life in Gluttony: A Culinary Adventure,” receiving a Gold medal from the Florida Book Awards.
In addition, in light of his assignments on every continent except Antarctica, Spear has observations and travel related experiences that have allowed him to write about many of the destinations he has visited. While eating his way around the world is an unmistakable passion, relating some of the unique experiences that many of his travels have provided is equally important.
