I’m a storyteller, curious about the world and looking to draw meaningful connections between all that makes life worth living; specifically food, wine and travel!

For over 30 years, I was a TV News Editor for ABC-TV Network News, and used the power of video to convey those stories. Then, I created Wine Along The 101 in 2008, to explore the fascinating world of wine, from the vineyards to the winemakers who pour the heart and soul into producing the very best wines possible. I became a wine convert later in life, after falling in love with everything wine country on a trip through Tuscany. My epiphany wine, Brunello di Montalcino!

Based in Los Angeles, I am a wine journalist, writing articles for my website, Wine Along The 101, and previously for Examiner.com for 6 years. I’ve produced, written and edited videos for Wine Along The 101, exploring wine through the lens of the people and places I’ve had the pleasure to experience. My thirst for wines and what makes them special led me on a journey of discovery, from California wine country to other wine regions around the world, most recently visiting the Etna wine region in Sicily.

Hungry for knowledge, I’m always looking for opportunities to increase my understanding of wine.  In 2011, I earned the WSET Advanced certification.  That same year, I became an Italian Wine Specialist with the North American Sommelier Association, earning the highest score in the class.  In 2012, I graduated from UCLA Extension, receiving the Certificate of Wine Business and Management.  I became a French Wine Scholar in 2014, with highest honors, and in 2018, a Master of Rioja.  In 2023, I attained the Spanish Wine Scholar, again with highest honors.  I’ve been an active member of the LA Wine Writers since it was founded. I’ve participated in the Wine Writers’ Educational Tours since its inaugural trip in 2018, traveling to Napa Valley, Willamette Valley and Paso Robles, doing a deep dive into the region, developing story ideas and contacts, and writing articles that bring the regions to life.
