Improving your online presence:
Bios and Media Kits with Diane Dorby

First impressions are formed within seconds of meeting an editor, publisher, potential sponsor or client. But what if they are not meeting you personally? Then, those valuable first seconds occur while they read your bio and see your portfolio. Knowing what to include and how to present yourself quickly and effectively is key.  As we go into a new year it is a good time to take a fresh look at your bio and work samples with the hopes of travel opening up more in the year ahead, and new opportunities presenting themselves. IFWTWA members should be prepared to update their profiles, and guest host Diane Dobry, a course director at Full Sail University for the PR master’s degree program, will share some ideas from her work teaching graduates heading out into new careers.  She will also give pointers on putting together a media kit that expands on the bio to include a varied portfolio of your work.
